Orange back-painted glass splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks

Made-to-measure orange splashback and cooker hood splashback
Tangerine, apricot, coral or burnt orange: an orange splashback brings energy and warmth to the kitchen. Orange back-painted glass is toughened glass painted on the back, so the colour stays vivid and protected.
Used in the right measure, orange often appears as an orange cooker hood splashback behind the hob, or as a strip along the length of the worktop.

Orange cooker hood splashback: getting the balance right
Orange works best in concentrated doses: an orange cooker hood splashback 60 to 90 cm wide is enough to liven up a white, grey or wooden kitchen. 6 mm toughened glass withstands the heat of all hob types; with gas, keep at least 10 cm between the flame and the glass.
Made-to-measure orange glass splashback for the kitchen
Our orange back-painted glass splashback withstands the temperature differences generated by hobs. Choose a sturdy, made-to-measure kitchen splashback from a wide range of colours from the RAL, NCS and Pantone charts. Here is a selection of shades:
tangerine orange, light orange, carrot, peach, apricot, mandarin, light coral, salmon, melon, burnt orange, copper, pumpkin.
In interior design, orange needs to be well matched with its surroundings so that it does not become overpowering. It goes perfectly with white and black, but also with beige, sand, petrol blue or purple. Wood, rattan and natural stone are the materials that go best with an orange kitchen splashback.
Why choose an orange back-painted splashback?
The toughened glass we use to make splashbacks withstands the heat of cooking appliances: it can handle a temperature difference of around 200 °C. Strong and durable, the splashback protects the walls and can be used as a cooker hood splashback in the cooking area (recommended height: 50 to 75 cm). It can also be used to protect and decorate kitchen furniture.
Design your kitchen splashback
We make glazing with made-to-measure cut-outs: choose from the many shapes available to get a toughened glass splashback suited to your kitchen, with standard cut-outs or custom shapes.
Select your paint colour from our three colour charts. Orange creates a contemporary atmosphere and suits a variety of furniture styles. The paint is enhanced by the finish of the toughened glass, gloss or matt (frosted), on clear or low-iron glass. Finally, position the holes and cut-outs needed to make fitting easier.

Frequently asked questions about orange splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks
Which orange should I choose for a kitchen splashback?
A bright orange such as RAL 2004 makes for an energetic kitchen, to be balanced with white, grey or black unit fronts. Soft oranges, apricot or peach, add warmth without being overwhelming. Copper and burnt orange go well with wooden kitchens.
Is the orange cooker hood splashback heat-resistant?
Yes, it is 6 mm toughened glass that withstands a temperature difference of around 200 °C, on all types of hob. With gas, keep 10 to 15 cm between the burners and the glass.
Why low-iron glass for orange back-painted glass?
Behind clear glass, which is slightly green, orange looks duller and tends towards brown. Low-iron glass, almost colourless, keeps the chosen colour at its brightest.
Which colours go with an orange splashback?
Orange goes with white and black, but also with beige, sand, petrol blue or purple. Wood, rattan and natural stone are the materials that suit it best.
Which standard applies to the orange back-painted glass splashback?
The glass is toughened to standard EN 12150, which makes it a safety glass. Painted glass for indoor use is covered by standard EN 16477, and a film on the back holds fragments together.
Won't I get tired of orange?
To avoid tiring of it, limit orange to the cooker hood splashback or choose a softer terracotta shade. You can then change accessories around this colour without replacing the splashback.
