Black cooker hood splashback for the kitchen

For a black cooker hood splashback used in the kitchen behind a hob, or close to a heat source, toughened glass is recommended. It is mandatory behind a gas hob.
To complete your kitchen, our workshop offers a black cooker hood splashback with a flat polished edge (edge finishing). While enhancing the style of your room, this opaque black glazing protects your wall and anything else from splashes.

“Really lovely quality product delivered, in line with our expectations (back-painted glass)... As for the quality (Securit glass resistant to the high temperature near an induction hob), we'll see with use.”

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a splashback and a cooker hood splashback?
A splashback covers the whole wall area behind the worktop, along the full length of the kitchen. A cooker hood splashback, which is smaller, is fitted only behind the hob, generally in standard sizes of 60 x 70 cm or 90 x 70 cm.
Can a black cooker hood splashback be installed above an induction hob?
Yes, the 6 mm black cooker hood splashback is compatible with all types of hob, including induction, with no particular distance requirement, unlike gas.
Why use toughened glass for a cooker hood splashback rather than another material?
Toughened glass, also known as Securit glass, is the only material permitted behind a gas hob. It withstands the temperature differences generated by the heat of the burners, whereas ordinary glass could crack. Its compact structure also allows it to withstand splashes of oil and steam without deteriorating. A protective film is applied to the back of the paint to further increase the durability of the whole.
Can a toughened glass panel be drilled?
Yes, but only before the glass is toughened in the workshop. Once toughened, the glass can no longer be drilled or recut without shattering completely. Holes (for a flush socket, cable grommet, etc.) must therefore be specified when placing a made-to-measure order. The standard 60 x 70 and 90 x 70 cm sizes do not offer this option.
Which cooker hood splashback sizes are available immediately?
Two sizes are available from stock for dispatch within 2 working days: 60 x 70 cm and 90 x 70 cm. For any other size, a made-to-measure cooker hood splashback can be manufactured to order using the online configurator, with the option of adding rounded corners, a bevel or holes.
Should the protective film on the back of the black paint be removed before fitting?
No, this film must never be removed: it protects the paint and removing it could damage the paint permanently.
