Grey cooker hood splashback: understated and easy to live with
An anthracite grey cooker hood splashback is discreet under a stainless steel hood and hides cooking splashes well. In light grey, it brightens the work area. 6 mm toughened glass is suitable for induction, ceramic and gas hobs, with a clearance of at least 10 cm from the flame.
Grey splashbacks, grey cooker hood splashbacks and made-to-measure back-painted glass
Give your kitchen a finish that is both refined and high-performing with a grey splashback or a grey cooker hood splashback in made-to-measure back-painted glass. Elegant and versatile, grey creates a contemporary feel and suits modern kitchens as well as more traditional spaces.
The glass is always toughened: it withstands thermal and mechanical shocks and is suitable behind a hob or near a heat source. The colour, protected on the back of the glass, keeps a lasting shine, or an even satin look in the matt finish.
A grey splashback made to your measurements
Made-to-measure design allows millimetre-precise integration:
- technical cut-outs for sockets, switches or fixings,
- precise fitting around units and appliances,
- custom dimensions to cover the entire preparation area or just the cooker hood area.
Thanks to its non-porous surface, grey back-painted glass is easy to clean: a simple wipe with a cloth removes stains and splashes. It does not fade and keeps its elegance over time.
Possible shades of grey: pearl grey, light grey, silver grey, dove grey, mouse grey, slate grey, concrete grey, taupe grey, graphite grey, anthracite grey, iron grey, basalt grey.

Frequently asked questions about grey splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks
Which grey should I choose for a kitchen splashback?
Anthracite grey RAL 7016 and graphite grey RAL 7024 are the most popular: modern, they hardly show splashes. Silk grey RAL 7044 and light grey RAL 7035 brighten a small kitchen while showing dirt less than white.
What colours go with a grey splashback?
Grey pairs with white for light, with wood for warmth and with black for an industrial style. It also sets off an accent colour on the unit doors: mustard yellow, teal blue or sage green.
Is a grey cooker hood splashback suitable for a gas cooker?
Yes: 6 mm toughened glass, resistant to temperature differences of around 200 °C. Position it 10 to 15 cm from the burners. Dark grey has the advantage of hiding any cooking marks.
Clear or low-iron glass for grey back-painted glass?
For pearl grey or light grey, low-iron glass avoids the slight green tinge of standard glass. For anthracite or dark grey, the difference is almost invisible and clear glass is fine.
What standard applies to a grey glass splashback?
The glass is toughened safety glass conforming to standard EN 12150. Painted glass for interior use is covered by standard EN 16477; the grey paint is backed with a safety film.
Gloss or matt grey splashback?
Gloss grey reflects light and makes the room look bigger; matt grey, on frosted glass, gives a mineral look similar to polished concrete, with no reflections or visible marks. Both can be cleaned with a microfibre cloth.
