Round glass in all its forms

        Arched glass / arch shape

Create a made-to-measure arch-shaped toughened glass piece for your interior project. This partly rounded shape is very much on-trend in interior design and fit-out: an arched opening in a wall, a worktop cover, a corner table, a shelf or protection in front of a stove. It brings light, softness and elegance while playing with volumes.

        Round glass

One of our customers' favourite shapes: coffee tables, cable drum tables, side tables or dining table tops. Round toughened glass cut to the diameter of your choice suits all your creative projects, indoors and outdoors, whether to protect or build a garden table. Strong and resistant, it stands the test of time. Round glass is also used as protection under a stove, echoing its shape while protecting wooden floors from embers and sparks.

        Quarter-circle glass

The ideal shape for corner fittings. In the living room, bedroom or bathroom, it lets you add storage anywhere and show off books and plants. On a corner unit, it protects the wood and is easy to clean.

        Teardrop glass

A shape designed especially to protect the floor under a stove: it fits perfectly into a corner of the room and adds a decorative touch to a practical item.

        Oblong glass

An oblong top dresses a coffee table or dining table with a unique style. It also works in the kitchen, as a worktop or on a central island, to play with materials.

        Half-round glass

The ideal shape under a heating appliance placed against a wall: it protects the floor covering while keeping the floor continuous. On wooden flooring or carpet, a protective plate is compulsory under a wood or pellet stove. A half-round shape also makes a top for a demi-lune table or side table.

        Oval / elliptical glass

The ideal shape for a sleek oval glass table: coffee table, desk or dining table, indoors and outdoors. All our oval glass is cut to measure in France, in toughened safety glass.

Clear, low-iron, tinted, back-painted or frosted for a matt touch: there are plenty of options for bringing glass into your space and its volumes.

Frequently asked questions about round glass and curved shapes

What thickness should I choose for a round glass table top?

A thickness of 6 to 8 mm suits most table tops, depending on the diameter and use (coffee table or dining table). For a large-diameter table or a top on a central pedestal, choose 8 or 10 mm: the glass flexes less and the table is more stable.

What is the difference between round glass, oval glass and an arched shape?

A round has the same diameter in every direction. An oval (or ellipse) has a different length and width. Arched refers to an otherwise rectangular panel with one or more rounded sides, such as an arch shape.

What is the maximum diameter for made-to-measure round glass?

The maximum diameter depends on the thickness: 900 mm in 4 mm, 1,600 mm in 5 mm and 1,800 mm from 6 mm upwards, whatever the finish (clear, low-iron, frosted, tinted, back-painted, patterned).

How do I measure round or oval glass?

For round glass, give the finished diameter, from edge to edge through the centre. For an oval, give the greatest length and the greatest width. To replace an existing top, measure the old top or the support it sits on; for a protective top, use the dimensions of the furniture. The manufacturing tolerance is -1 / +1 mm.

Can round glass be used as floor protection in front of a stove or fireplace?

Yes: round glass and its variants (half-round, teardrop, quarter circle) are widely used in front of or under a wood or pellet stove. On wooden flooring or carpet, a protective plate is compulsory, and rounded shapes avoid sharp corners on the floor. See also our made-to-measure floor plates.

What finishes and thicknesses are available for round glass?

Round glass is available in clear, low-iron, clear frosted, low-iron frosted, tinted and granité patterned glass, from 4 to 19 mm thick (some tints are not offered in every thickness). Beyond the circle, the configurator offers many curved shapes: half-moon, oval, ellipse, arch, teardrop…

What standard does round toughened glass meet?

Plakglass round glass is a thermally toughened safety glass conforming to European standard EN 12150 ("Thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass"): it governs the toughening process, tolerances and fragmentation test, as the glass must break into small, blunt pieces. The base glass is float glass conforming to standard EN 572. The edges are flat polished before toughening.
