- Our wooden glass partitions can be fixed to all types of wall: brick, plaster, wood, honeycomb partitions, concrete. The screws and wall plugs for fixing the glass partition depend on the type of surface in your project, so they are not supplied in the glass partition kit.
- Our wooden glass partitions must be fixed on all 4 sides, i.e. recessed into the middle of your wall.
The glass
All our glass is 8 mm SECURIT toughened glass supplied with arrissed edges, not sharp. This means you can handle it easily during assembly.
Glass from Plakglass comes with an additional guarantee. Any broken glass on one of our glass partitions will be replaced free of charge (shipping costs payable by the customer).
The wood
We work exclusively with oak and beech, two sturdy species. The wood we use is PEFC certified, a label that guarantees sustainable forest management. This certification confirms that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests, respecting the balance between natural resources, biodiversity and human activity.

The wall end profile
As its name suggests, the wall end profile finishes the edge of a partition wall with a wooden piece designed for this purpose, rather than making good the edge of the wall itself. It is used in building work to avoid the painstaking finishing of a small surface: the visible edge of a partition wall.
For a glass partition, you end up with 4 visible wall edges (the 4 sides of the opening cut in your wall): you can choose to fill, re-plaster, sand and repaint these 4 edges, or cover these rough cuts with a wall end profile: no filling, no plasterboard, no adhesive, no plaster, no paint.
The time saved is invaluable and the result impeccable (because neatly making good a plasterboard partition is no small task...).
Our wall end profile is designed for a standard BA13 plasterboard partition thickness: the inside of the profile measures 75 mm for a theoretical 74 mm wall (2 BA13 boards and a 48 mm stud).
It overlaps the wall by 10 mm on each side to hide any irregularities in the cut.

Thanks to assembly designed to be as simple as possible, the frame and glass panes can be fitted quickly and without difficulty.
Our frames are made of solid oak or beech, two species renowned for their strength and natural beauty. The wood is PEFC certified: this label guarantees that it comes from sustainably managed forests, with respect for the environment, biodiversity and forest ecosystems.
All our glass partitions are fitted with 8 mm Securit toughened glass, perfectly suited to indoor use. Our glass has arrissed edges that are not sharp: any imperfections from cutting are sanded down and the edges have a matt appearance.
This toughened glass is 5 times more impact-resistant than standard glass and withstands temperature differences of up to 200 °C. That is why Plakglass guarantees the glass for 5 years.
Another advantage of Securit glass: if it breaks, it shatters into small fragments that are hardly sharp at all. An essential safety feature.
Made-to-measure, ready-to-fit workshop-style glass partition: tunnel model or with wall end profiles
Two models are available. With the tunnel model, the frame is fitted directly into the wall opening, for a traditional workshop look. With the wall end profile model, the profile also covers the thickness of the wall, for a neat finish on both sides.

Our glass partition kits, with supports and dividing bars, are an innovative self-assembly solution. Their retaining system holds the glass perfectly. With the wall end profiles, installation is child's play: prepare the opening, fit the supports, the glass and the dividing bars, and your glass partition is in place!
Your glass partition is prepared as a complete kit in our workshop, to your measurements. You receive the supports, the dividing bars and the toughened glass cut to your measurements, and all you have to do is install everything.

Where can a wooden glass partition be fitted?
Wooden glass partitions are very much on trend and suit every room. They can be fitted in a wall opening, or fixed onto a half-height wall, a storage unit or a worktop.
With a wooden glass partition, you can create a light-filled division, for example between the kitchen and the living room, or between the bedroom and the dressing room or bathroom, or mark out a home office area.
A workshop-style glass partition adds an elegant, modern touch and has become a decorating must-have. Compared with an aluminium glass partition or a steel one, which look slimmer and colder, a wooden frame creates a warmer, more natural atmosphere.
What size for a made-to-measure wooden glass partition?
The size of your wooden glass partition depends on how you intend to use it. We make each glass partition to your measurements, within the following limits:
- Opening height: from 450 to 2500 mm
- Opening width: from 450 to 3670 mm
- Number of panes: from 2 to 13
Large glass partitions, from 6 panes upwards, are most often used to divide two rooms. Small glass partitions, with 2 or 3 panes, make an attractive light opening between two spaces.
How do I install my wooden glass partition?
Our wooden glass partitions are delivered as a kit and are easy to assemble, even if you are not a keen DIYer. The assembly instructions supplied give you all the information you need for simple, safe installation.
Assembly is done in 6 steps:
- Prepare the surface to which the glass partition will be fixed
- Mark the fixing points and drill the holes
- Position and fix the frame
- Adjust the frame and fit the "packer" profiles in the bottom of the frame
- Position the glass panes using the suction cup
- Even out the gaps between the panes and apply silicone sealant all around the frame

Which wood should be used for a glass partition?
