Beige or taupe cooker hood splashbacks

A taupe cooker hood splashback goes well with wooden or stone worktops and stays discreet under a stainless steel hood. Sand beige brings softness to a white kitchen. In 6 mm toughened glass, it is suitable for all hob types; with gas, keep at least 10 cm between the flame and the glass.

Made-to-measure taupe / beige glass splashbacks

Very popular in modern and designer interiors, taupe appeals to many people. Our made-to-measure taupe back-painted glass panels are used to create a splashback, protect furniture or make a worktop.

Why choose our taupe - brown - beige back-painted glass splashback?

Our made-to-measure glass cutting service uses strong, heat-resistant materials: our panels are made from toughened glass, treated to withstand the heat of hobs. Cut and painted to your specifications, they are easy to install and durable in a kitchen environment.

Design your made-to-measure beige glass splashback

With made-to-measure, you decide every feature of your back-painted glass panels. After the dimensions and thickness, choose the corner shape (rounded or chamfered), the position of any cut-outs or notches, then the glass finish: gloss for a smooth, reflective surface, or matt (frosted) for a satin look without reflections.

Then select the shade from the RAL, NCS or Pantone charts. The configurator shows a preview of the chosen paint; the actual colour may vary slightly depending on your screen. Here is a selection of taupe, beige and brown shades:

beige, light beige, greige, sand, linen, vanilla, café au lait, caramel, cinnamon, hazelnut, taupe, fawn, amber, mahogany, chestnut, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, walnut stain, sepia, raw sienna, umber, tobacco, bronze, bistre, russet gold.

In interior design, beige is an easy colour to match, just like the other basic colours: grey, white and blue.

Frequently asked questions about taupe, beige or brown splashbacks

Which shade of taupe or beige should I choose?

Taupe and greige, between grey and beige, go with almost any unit doors. Light beiges, sand or linen, brighten the kitchen and show dirt less than white. Deep browns, chocolate brown RAL 8017 or sepia brown RAL 8014, create a cosy atmosphere.

What goes with a taupe splashback?

Taupe loves white, cream and light wood, but also matt black for a contemporary style. Sage green, petrol blue or terracotta add a touch of colour, and brass sets it off.

Do I need low-iron glass for beige back-painted glass?

Yes for light beiges and sand: the green tint of clear glass makes them look dull. For a dark taupe or a brown, the difference is slight and clear glass is fine.

Can a taupe cooker hood splashback go behind a gas hob?

Yes, 10 to 15 cm from the burners. 6 mm toughened glass withstands temperature differences of around 200 °C and the taupe paint, on the back, is not exposed to the flame.

What standards apply to taupe back-painted glass?

The base glass is toughened to standard EN 12150: if it breaks, it shatters into small, blunt fragments. Standard EN 16477 covers painted glass for interior use; a safety film protects the back.

        Is taupe a timeless colour?

Yes: like grey and beige, taupe is a basic colour that keeps up with changing decor without going out of fashion. It lets you change accessory colours without replacing the splashback.
