Green back-painted glass splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks

Made-to-measure green splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks
Sage, olive, emerald or fir: a green splashback brings a natural, soothing touch that echoes plants and wood. Green back-painted glass combines toughened glass with paint applied to the back, for an intense colour protected by the glass.

A green cooker hood splashback for the cooking area
A fir green or moss green cooker hood splashback dresses the hob elegantly, especially opposite light or wooden unit doors. The size follows the width of the hob, often 60 to 90 cm, with a height of 60 to 75 cm. 6 mm toughened glass is suitable for all hob types, with a minimum distance of 10 cm from a gas flame.
Made-to-measure green kitchen splashbacks
Made-to-measure back-painted glass dresses the various elements of a kitchen: splashbacks, cooker hood splashbacks, decorative panels or furniture protection. Decide the dimensions and features of your green splashback yourself, to suit the look of your kitchen.
Why choose our green back-painted splashback?
Toughened glass for splashbacks offers both high thermal resistance and greater strength than ordinary glazing. That is why we use it for green splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks, which must withstand rising temperatures, as well as for worktops that may take hot pans.
Design your made-to-measure splashback or cooker hood splashback
Glass cut to size gives you exactly the piece you need. First set the dimensions of your splashback to fit your kitchen, then the thickness according to its location: a kitchen splashback near a heat source must be at least 6 mm thick, a worktop at least 12 mm.
Then choose your shade from the hundreds of colours in the RAL, NCS and Pantone charts, the corner shape and the glass finish. Here is a selection of possible shades for your green back-painted glass:
almond green, anise green, asparagus green, avocado green, bottle green, celadon, aqua green, verdigris, emerald green, empire green, spinach green, forest green, grass green, jade, khaki, mint, olive, pastel green, apple green, fir green, sage green, lime green, turquoise.

Frequently asked questions about green splashbacks and cooker hood splashbacks
Which green should I choose for a kitchen splashback?
Sage green and eucalyptus, soft and greyed, are the most on-trend and go well with light wood and brass. Deep greens, fir RAL 6009 or moss RAL 6005, make for an elegant kitchen. Apple or anise green creates a lively, retro style.
What colours go with a green splashback?
Green pairs with natural wood, white and beige for a natural kitchen, with black and brass for a chic style, and with terracotta or dusky pink for a warm combination. A light stone worktop sets off sage green beautifully.
Is clear glass good enough for green back-painted glass?
For a mid or dark green, yes: the slight green tint of clear glass blends in. For aqua green, a pastel or a very light sage, low-iron glass renders the chosen shade more faithfully.
Can a green cooker hood splashback be fitted behind a gas hob?
Yes, it is 6 mm toughened glass, resistant to temperature differences of around 200 °C. Keep 10 to 15 cm between the burners and the green cooker hood splashback. With induction, no distance is required.
What standards apply to a green back-painted glass splashback?
The glass is thermally toughened to standard EN 12150 and shatters into small, blunt fragments if it breaks. Painted glass for interior use falls under standard EN 16477; a safety film is bonded to the back of the green paint.
Is green a lasting colour in the kitchen?
Natural greens stand the test of time well, as they go with raw materials such as wood and stone. The paint, protected behind the glass, does not dull; only the choice of shade determines whether the effect is on-trend or timeless.
