Frequently asked questions about the 95 x 40 cm cooker hood splashback
Is the 95 x 40 cm cooker hood splashback right for my cooker hood?
It suits a cooker hood 95 cm wide, with 40 cm between the worktop and the bottom of the cooker hood. Measure this height and subtract 2 to 3 mm for the joint: if the measurement does not match exactly, choose a neighbouring size or the made-to-measure cooker hood splashback.
Can this cooker hood splashback be fitted behind a gas hob?
Yes: being 6 mm toughened glass, it withstands a temperature difference of around 200 °C. Keep 12 to 15 cm between the rear edge of the burners and the glass, 10 cm as an absolute minimum. With induction or ceramic hobs, 6 to 8 cm is enough.
Which standard applies to a 95 x 40 back-painted glass cooker hood splashback?
The glass is toughened to European standard EN 12150: if it breaks, it shatters into small, blunt pieces, held together by the safety film bonded to the back of the paint. Painted glass for indoor use falls under standard EN 16477.
