Toughened glass cooker hood splashback measuring 850 x 650 mm, painted on the back face in our workshop and protected by a safety film on the back. The edges are polished, not sharp. This 85 cm wide size covers the wall under a 85 cm cooker hood, with a height of 65 cm between the worktop and the cooker hood.

Can this cooker hood splashback be fitted behind a gas hob?
Yes: being 6 mm toughened glass, it withstands a temperature difference of around 200 °C. Keep 12 to 15 cm between the rear edge of the burners and the glass, 10 cm as an absolute minimum. With induction or ceramic hobs, 6 to 8 cm is enough.
Which standard applies to a 85 x 65 back-painted glass cooker hood splashback?
The glass is toughened to European standard EN 12150: if it breaks, it shatters into small, blunt pieces, held together by the safety film bonded to the back of the paint. Painted glass for indoor use falls under standard EN 16477.
